Holy shit! Flight of the Navigator!?!?!?!

Man does that take me back, I'm gonna have to get that. I loved that movie when I was a pup.

p.s. Somebody tell this non-techno-geek wtf Superbit is and why I should care?

Well, no luck on Superbit Spider-man as yet. Target didn't have them, and SunCoast has switched warehouses and haven't received any new shipments for three weeks. It was supposed to be better going to the new warehouse company [img]confused.gif[/img]

As for an update - you have to love a movie that is a good laugh and they go the extra mile and release the unrated version. Especially when you read the back witht he features:

As for CofR, I think it looks like they have taken everything that I liked about PB and the character and just thrown it away. Of course I wouldn't expect another movie set on the same planet, but what made the film and the character especially appealing to me was the intense, personal, claustrophobic nature of it. Riddick didn't want to have "dick" (sorry, couldn't resist) to do with anyone. Now they've taken what was an intimate setting with a brooding loner and tried to turn it into Dune or something with him as a "super hero" savior type figure! Bleh. [img]tongue.gif[/img]

To me the character was great "small", and they've tried to make it too big/epic. Might turn out to be great, but I am just NOT thrilled with the trailers I have seen. [img]graemlins/wonder.gif[/img]

Superbit is a different pricess of encoding the video and audio to a higher standard. It takes the space that is usually used for special features and uses it for a higher encoding rate. It makes the pictures sharper and more vibrant, and gives the audio a qaulity boost. Now granted if you don't have a TV with a high end connections (atleast SVHS connection) and a DTS enabled surround sound system, you aren't going to get any benefit from the Superbit version.

To me, the quality difference from normal DVD to Superbit is comparative to what you see from a VHS to normal DVD.

I just wish more movies were done in Superbit to begin with instead of a year or two later after the DVD release. I would buy over half what I do in Superbit if it if an effects movie. Probably wouldn't if it is a Drama or comedy movie.

Oh yeah- and you should have atleast one copy of Pitch Black in the collection!
